Everyone: Makeup and Hair
*Makeup: Please put makeup on your dancer so they will not be washed out on stage.
Makeup should include: Mascara, blush, and lipstick
*Hair: Ballerina Bun (see example photo below.)
(If your child's hair is too short, just pull it back out of their face as best you can. even if that means half up.)
Each Dancer will need to wear their costume over a *TANK leotard and tights.
OR
Spandex shorts/or even solid colored undies over tights will work too, of you do not have a tank leotard. It will look like a leotard when they spin.
I have some hand-me-down leotards if you would like to look.
Each dancer will need to wear white or pale pink tights and ballet shoes.
Here's a link to ballet shoes if you need them. I prefer the lightest pink, but do not worry if you already have black. That is fine. Make sure you do not order a size up, hoping to let them grow into them. They are hard to dance in, if they are too big. They need to fit snug.
Please steam your costume to get any wrinkles out before the recital.
You can hang tutus upside down and starch them to make them look the best.
Here's a tip if your tutu is very wrinkly.
Mix a spray bottle with water and fabric softener.
Recipe: 2 cups of water
1/2 cup of fabric softener
Mix and spray onto a section of the tutu (best if you hold tutu upside down).
Then get your blow-dryer and blow it carefully on the WARM setting, not HOT. It can melt on hot.
Continue with sections of the tutu until you are done.
